Month long classes, online courses, independent study and more are required to be a qualified budtender for a cannabis store in New Brunswick.
New Brunswick Liquor, Canopy Growth and Finance Department together signed a deal to develop a training program for Cannabis NB employees.
The program is billed as the first of its kind in Canada.
During the three week program, employees will be instructed on specifics for product knowledge, customer service, safety and store procedures.
“Part of ensuring we have a safe environment, once recreational-use cannabis is legal, is making sure potential consumers have the right information about the products they may buy,” Finance Minister Cathy Rogers said via a press release published by NB government.
