Cannabis stores nationwide are getting ready for Super Bowl Sunday. Weed sales are expected to increase in celebration of the big game.
Marijuana has been added to the must-have list, next to beer, pizza and chicken wings for the annual football game.
According to Green Bits, an active sales systems in six states, cannabis sales spiked up to 40 percent one day before the 2017 Super Bowl Sunday. The average purchased reported by USA Today increased from $100 to $140. Most of the purchases are marijuana edibles and THC cartridges.
As California continues going crazy for recreational marijuana since Jan. 1, this year’s sales could even be higher than last year.
It’s heavy competition in the market too. On the day of the big game, many stores will host raffles, promotions, discounts and more. Blum in Las Vegas offers a special deal: Buy $30 of marijuana and get $8 more for a penny.
